Candidate Support Class

Candidates, your National Board Certification journey has just begun!
The Denver Regional Office for the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) would like to commend the 2006 cohort for taking on this rewarding challenge, AND it would like to announce an exciting candidate support opportunity.
The University of Colorado at Denver and Health Sciences Center in conjunction with the Front Range BOCES will be offering a graduate course that focuses on supporting first-time candidates through the certification process. Both organizations recognize the importance of providing consistent and quality candidate support. The course, therefore, will follow the guidelines developed by NBPTS in 2005 for quality candidate support.
Not only will the course provide guided candidate support, but it will also provide a learning community whereby candidates can collaborate with other candidates involved in the certification process. The structured support and time dedicated solely to National Board work are just a few of the benefits!
The course entitled, “Candidate Support for National Board Certification” will be available beginning this fall and run through next spring. Details as follows:
Location: TBD-Denver Metro Area
Dates: Beginning Fall 2006 and runs through Spring 2007 (Refer to enclosed course syllabus for complete list of meeting dates)
Course Fee: $250.00 which includes 2 graduate credit hours (Be sure to check with your district-there may be professional development funds available to help defray the cost)
