Colorado Network National Board Certification

Statewide Incentives

All National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) will be allocated a $1,600 stipend which will be paid from the Colorado Department of Education to the district.  The district will then allocate the stipend to individual NBCTs.  NBCTs who are teaching in low performing schools as defined by the School Accountability Reports will receive an additional $3,200 for a total of $4,800. To make this happen, NBCTs must fill out a form provided by the Colorado Department of Education.  Contact Anne Marie Roberts at Roberts_A@cde.state.co.us to request a copy of this form.

THIS FORM IS TO BE COMPLETED BY THE NBCT AND RETURNED TO THE DISTRICT (NOT TO THE COLORADO DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION).  A copy of your National Board Certification certificate needs to be turned in with the form.  The district is required to fill out its own form and send the appropriate information to the Colorado Department of Education for the stipend dollars. The form must be completed before Jan. 15, 2009 and be turned into the district before that date.

Stipends will be rewarded to registered NBCTs on May 1, 2009.

If you have questions about this process please contact Anne Marie Roberts at the Colorado Department of Education.  Her email is:  Roberts_A@cde.state.co.us.
