The
National Board Certification process has taught me the importance of assessment. I can honestly
say that I have been able to assess my students and myself more effectively.
The experience was invaluable. Like many others have expressed, I have not experienced any other type of
professional development that was more meaningful because this professional development was self-driven.

Mission Statement
The Colorado Network for National Board Certification is committed to the advancement of quality teaching that promotes high standards of learning for all students in Colorado.
Purpose:
The Colorado Network is centered on four main objectives.
- Creating a professional teaching community committed to sharing knowledge and quality teaching practices.
- Providing a support system for master teachers throughout the state.
- Creating a vehicle to infuse the experiences and perspectives of master teachers in the policy process.
- Enhancing the quality of teaching and learning in every classroom in Colorado.
Current Objectives
Through partnering with professional groups, legislators, businesses, community leaders, teachers’ associations, Colorado National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs), retired NBCTs, master teachers and parents, we will fulfill our mission to advance quality teachers and learning in Colorado by:
- Recruiting National Board candidates
- Training Candidate Support Providers
- Supporting first time, advanced and renewal candidates
- Building the awareness of National Board Certification in our state
